We Are Done with the House - A Continuation from Last Week's Blog Titled "The Home Stretch&
For those that have been following along with the blog, you know that last week we were in the home stretch of our current flip. We've basically been in the home stretch for the past two months, but that's beside the point. The key here is that we are officially DONE working on the house and it is listed as of yesterday. Did it take longer than expected? Yes... Did we go over budget? Absolutely... Are we going to do this all over again? Without a doubt (except next time hopefully on schedule and on budget). The AP Boys have an itch, and the only thing that can scratch it is flipping more houses and gambling on college football.
Believe it or not, this is actually the most stressful part of the whole process. Although finishing the house brings about an incredible sense of relief, it is also a sobering reminder that we are no longer in control. It is the moment when we are pulled out of the game and all we can do is watch and wait. Neither Brendan nor I have ever been described as patient human beings, and I don't anticipate that changing any time soon. We are now at the mercy of the market, and we can only hope that all the time, money and effort we have dedicated toward this house will result in a positive outcome.

The goal of the game is to make money, and that's our intent. But if you'll allow me to get real for a moment, it's incredibly satisfying to know that we were able to take a house that needed a LOT of love and attention, put some serious sweat equity into it and transform it into someone's future home. That alone brings a tear to my eye.
Jokes aside, it is a rewarding feeling, and I can't help but be somewhat jealous of the person that end up buying this house. It truly is a great house. Don't believe me, see for yourself:
Words of wisdom to all you aspiring entrepreneurs out there. People always so if you do what you love, then you'll never work a day of your life. Well that's BS... I work every day of my life AND I love what I do. And you should too.
Anyways, I've gotten way off topic. It's time to bring this thing home and move on to the next project. I'm betting on a multiple bid scenario that goes minimum $10k over asking, I've also never lost a bet in my life. I would say wish us luck, but the AP Boys don't need it... we make our own luck.
